Teacher Appreciation Week - provide funding or materials online to projects you wish to support

Teacher Appreciation Week is the week of May 6th this year (2013).  Gifts and treats are surely appreciated as teachers work so hard for our kids to help them excel and succeed.
Perhaps you had a teacher that made a difference in your life, or there was a special project she did with your class that made a lifelong impact on who you are?  You can help other teachers around the country who are looking for help with donations/funding with their projects at donorschoose.org

Donorschoose.org is an online charity where teachers from around America post for help with their classroom projects. Donors look at their requests and pick which projects to help with.  You can give as little as a dollar, and if the project doesn't get fully funded, the money is returned to you as a credit with which you can then donate to another project or use to send the teacher a gift card.
Search for projects by type, ie:  art projects, science, funding for books, field trips, math and even search for projects by zip code so you can give back to your community schools.
Started by a Social Studies teacher in the Bronx so that individuals could connect directly with classrooms to provide needs that weren't funded.

Making a difference for a teacher can then help them make a difference for a generation of students!

Thank you teachers! We appreciate you!
