icaughtsanta.com is a fun idea for Christmas morning for the kids.  Imagine the reaction you'll get from your kids when they see a picture of Santa in their own home!  All you do is upload a holiday photo, and then add Santa to it. There is about 20 different Santa poses that should work in most of your pictures. The result is hilarious and fun!!  You can also then share it via Facebook or Twitter.  Gift cards or eGift Certificates are available to send to other loved ones on your Christmas List! This is a cool gift idea for your kids or for others who have kids!  Or maybe for the kid in you!! ;)
Wichita City Mom readers can get this for 1/2 price with code SANTA50.

WAHM Opportunity - Focus Group Study Participant

As a stay at home Mom of four, working outside of the home seems to be an impossibility.  Not being formally trained or educated, there is not a job available, that I have found, that would cover the cost of childcare for four children, and still make money for my family.   That is why I have always looked for any opportunity to earn extra cash from home.  For many years I have accomplished that through my own home sewing and painting business.  But more children equals less time, so that is now not as feasible to make it worth my time and investment money.  Now I do blogging where I can earn money as an affiliate publisher, allowing me to earn money just on reader participation or clicks on affiliate links.  This is a lot harder than it sounds....so as of late I have been participating in surveys.  Surveys have proven to be a really quick way to earn a little extra for very little effort.

Recently I was invited to participate in a Focus Group Study on Popcorn.  After I signed up, I was sent a large box that I was told not to open until a certain date.  On that date I was to open the product and then answer some questions while sampling the popcorn and record my results on a webcam video.  I then was scheduled to participate in an online chat room, where the moderator asked us all questions about the taste, appearance, impressions, and feelings about the product packaging and design.  It took just about an hour of my morning, and all in all I probably spent about two hours total.  My reward was a $90 gift card to Amazon.com! Woo Hoo!! Pretty exciting!  And because I am a Mom who loves a clean house, my money went to buy a new carpet cleaner!

My advice is to look for any online opportunities to fill out surveys and questionnaires.  Businesses are paying for Mom's who are the primary decision makers on purchases of all sorts of products to tell them what they like and don't like.  I use e-rewards.com but you are only able to get in with them if you receive an invite, and I honestly don't know how to get one.  Check out Surveyclub.com, There you can find links and listings of paying survey sites, with user reviews and articles.
Make sure to read a recent story from ABC and Good Morning America about making money with surveys and what to look for to make sure it is legitimate.  They've also got a great link with more legitimate survey sites.

Taking surveys is a quick, easy way to earn a little cash or prizes.  Keep your eyes and your mind open, and the opportunity may present itself.  (Remember, you do NOT have to pay money to do surveys. You want them to pay you!) Good luck, I would love to hear if anyone has done this or is doing this, and their experience and advice with it!

John Freida Foam Color review

I recently received a coupon for a free box of John Freida's foam hair color. John must've known I was needing a refresh of my hair color, so I went right away to get it. I have always been a big fan of coloring my own hair but have never used the new foam hair color before.  I have to say I am definitely impressed.  I have long hair past my shoulders.  So 1 liquid hair color box would barely have been enough to cover my hair completely.  Normally, I end up with patches of missed hair due to not enough saturation.  Not so with the foam.  In fact I felt that I had more than enough on my hair when I still had a 1/4 a bottle left.  But the instructions specifically say to use the entire bottle for long hair.  So I kept piling it on.  It has a pleasant smell that was neither chemically or irritating.  I didn't really even smell much of anything initially.  The only complaint I have about the foam is that it is messier than normal hair color as you have to apply it onto your hands and then rub into your hair.  This caused foam to get pretty much everywhere as you end up coating the bottle with it.  It's also difficult to apply precisely and keep away from your neck and ears.  It recommends coating those areas with petroleum jelly, which I did, but still had to use a wet wash cloth to clean up along the way and after. It rinsed out nice and quickly and the conditioner they provide is nice smelling and effective.

All in all I am thrilled with the results and love my color.  I picked a Dark Red Brown from the Radiant Reds group which gave me the deep color I wanted with a Cranberry cast to it.  I do wish there was a little more cranberry color through to the ends more, but I think that was due to the color I chose, I still match the models hair on the box.  It made my hair soft, shiny and healthy looking.  All desirable when putting chemicals in your hair.  At $11.99 a box at my local Target, I will buy this again.

Go on over to JohnFreida.com and use their online shade selector to pick your perfect shade and score a $1 off coupon when you're finished.
