The wait is almost over! If you missed the sneak peek event that happened last Saturday, don't worry, it's almost time! Tomorrow, September 3rd is the Grand opening of the first Whole Foods Market in Wichita!  Located just across from The Waterfront at  east 13th, you'll find the newly constructed store on the North - West corner of 13th and Webb.
The official opening ceremonies will begin at 8:40 AM and doors will open at 9:00 AM.  The program will begin with a literal “bread breaking” with the community (featuring a 4-foot challah bread from Kansas City’s Farm to Market Bakery) and an opening ceremony to award five area non-profit partners with $1000 each in support of their life-giving missions:
·         YMCA Cooking Matters for Adults*:
·         The United Methodist Open Door*
·         Wichita Children’s Home*:
·         Wichita Clean Streams
·         Kansas Food bank Food 4 Kids
* In partnership with United Way

Later in the day, 40 winning community members will receive an exclusive BBQ class by Pit Master Kelly Wurtz of 4Legs Up BBQ in Great Bend, KS at 12 PM and 6 PM.

Opening remarks will be made by local mayor Carl Brewer, Directors from the City of Wichita Environmental Health, YMCA, United Methodist Open Door, Wichita Children's Home, and the Director and CEO of the Kansas Food Bank. As well as the Store Team Leader and Whole Foods Market Regional President.

Whole Foods Market has made a sort of photo tour over at Facebook on how to have a "Dreamy Experience on Opening Day" for a further preview into more of what Whole Foods Market has to offer. See it here.

Look for more posts from Wichita City Mom as I am now a Whole Foods Market Ambassador and will be bringing you reviews, recipes and tips for shopping, saving money, and healthy eating for your whole family.
