Easter Egg Hunts 2015, and Hosanna Hosanna

Palm Sunday is today and is the start of Holy Week. The week that leads up to the day we celebrate as Easter.

Palm Sunday has always been one of my favorite parts of Easter. Our children's ministry at the church I serve and attend always has activities relating to Jesus riding into Jerusalem on his donkey, the people waving their palm branches and shouting, "Hosanna Hosanna". In the past we have taken the children, with palm branches parading through the halls shouting, "Hosanna, Hosanna, yay Jesus!"  It brings so much joy to my heart to hear them and see them have the excitement they have in shouting His name.

The next day the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, even the King of Israel!” And Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, just as it is written, “Fear not, daughter of Zion; behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's colt!” His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. ...John 12:12-19 ESV (source)
