Happy Birthday Kansas! How I love your beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
Others always speak so sour of you, but I happen to think you are a great state to live in, despite your never ending flatness, you still have plenty of beauty to appreciate.  You do have some hills, up in your northeast, and some bodies of water at least large enough after record drought to entertain your residents and visitors.

Of course, who could forget sunflowers, once you see one you know you're in Kansas.
You never fail to keep us in mystery about what the weather will be like from day to day.  Just when we are sick and tired of freezing cold and blowing wind, you send in a warm, sunny day that keep us from hiding forever.  We love our spring weather in Kansas.  Sure, some of your scenery does disappoint at times, but I do know that you are home to great people, who love family, are willing to help others, who have pride in their homes and communities.  It is the great people of this state that make you a great place to live, and a great place to raise a family.
