Smack dab in the middle of 2 major competitors, (both within a couple of blocks from each other), one would wonder how another organic health food store could compete in a yo-yo economy. But...The Fresh Market believes they will stand apart from the competition. One step inside the store and you will immediately see that this is a bit different from the competitors.
They definitely seek to appeal to all of your senses. Fresh flowers surround you immediately as you walk in, leading you to picture perfect produce, fresh meats, and seafood. An in-store bakery, deli, sushi bar and more.
The open air market feel with wood floors, pallet and barrel style displays makes you feel that you are in the middle of a European market. Most produce are locally sourced within a 100 mile radius. The selection and quality was impressive, and for the organic market viably competitive.
This store is an exciting little addition to the organic and whole food shopping experience. I spoke to the store manager and they are excited to bring a "personal" shopping experience to Wichita that only a small market like this can bring. They plan to offer monthly specials throughout the summer and you can sign up for emails with deals and specials at their website, www.thefreshmarket.com.
While I won't be adding this store to my weekly shopping trip, I will have it top of mind for specialty and organic food for my family, and stop in to grab a pie or two as those looked wonderful!
Find The Fresh Market at Bradley Fair Shopping Center, on North Rock Rd. They are located in the former Ultimate Electronics location next to Bed Bath, and Beyond.
Yeah, I'll be visiting this area again very soon!!
