My Chuck E. Cheese "New" Pizza Review
The new pizza has fresh dough, crispier crust, and 100% fresh grated mozzarella cheese and fresh vegetables. My kids, of course, love this place, and I have not always been a fan of their food or their service. I was though, pleasantly surprised.
Scoring big on the games! |
Our hot, fresh pizza |
We ordered a pepperoni pizza, and though it didn't have an over abundance of pepperoni's it was just enough for my group as they were zesty. If you tend to like lots of sauce on your pizza you may feel like this was a little on the dry side, but if you love cheese you will be very satisfied.
"Mr. Picky" approves! |
The crust was in between a not too thick not too thin, and crisp on the bottom, without being overly greasy. The Cheese, sauce and toppings went almost to the edge of the crust.
We ordered a large pizza for 5 of us, (two adults, three kids), and we had left overs!! It was filling and yummy! I will definitely be more excited to go back again knowing that my meal will be tasty and fresh!
Thanks Chuck E. Cheese for letting me review the new pizza! We had a great time, and enjoyed it!
Lots of cheese! |
Can you say "cheesy"? |

Fun rainy day, or hot day indoor activity
With record heat in our city lately, the whole idea of loading up the kids and going anywhere has seemed very unappealing. Doesn't help being 7 months pregnant either! So you've used up all your indoor entertainment activities and the kids are now climbing the walls? Try this fun, simple activity that they will absolutely enjoy, and will create some lasting memories in the process.
You will need,
all to at least two of your children, (If you have only one child a parent could help out with this).
A digital camera
photo editing software, (such as Picassa. Picnik might work you just need the "collage" option)
Plenty of floor space
masking tape (optional but not necessary)
a chair or stool
good overhead or natural lighting
imagination and some patience
So what you are going to do, is make a collage photo of each of your children's names, using them (their bodies) to make the letters. You may have to try out a couple of different combinations of contorting your children to get the letters to look right. But it's actually a lot easier than it sounds. And once you get through a letter or two it gets even easier.
My husband came up with this first off with my oldest two, and did the first set of names. The kids and I finished off the youngests' this past weekend. They were all tickled with the results.
Take a snapshot of each letter in the child's name. This is for Henry so we started with "H". You could use masking tape to lay out the letters on the carpet, which makes communicating each child's position a little easier, but that does take a lot more time, and you risk the tape showing up in the photo. Perfection is not key to these photos.
Lay each kid on the floor and place them into letters shapes. You could do lower case but capital letters just seemed a little easier.
Place a chair, stool, bench or stand on a piece of furniture where you can get a good overhead shot of each letter. You may even have to hold the camera at arm's length distance or so to get it centered into your screen and to avoid your own feet (or prego belly hee hee) If you get a tad bit of yourself in the bottom of the picture, you can always crop it out when you go to edit.
Don't be afraid to take a couple of shots of each letter. count on the kids not always staying perfectly still while you line up your shot. And there's probably going to be someone making a face, flatulence noises, or giggling, in the midst of it all.
You'll also like the option of choosing from two or three shots as things look a little different on the computer screen than from your camera preview.
When finished, upload them into your preferred photo editing software, we use Picassa. And then crop and adjust as needed.
You will then go to the Collage section of your program to line each picture up to spell out the name.
When finished, you will have something like this....
I really like this in a black and white version, so as not to date it too much, or in if you don't like the color combo of the clothing they're wearing.
You can then send your photo to be printed (it would be really neat enlarged), or print it off on your own home printer. We did this in black and white, and printed it off on our 8.5"X11" paper and still like it enough to frame it just like this. I will probably cut mine down and then use scrapbook paper to make a custom matting for the space around it. My kids have really enjoyed looking at the picture of themselves as letters over and over again, and I'm sure you will too! Have fun!

WAHM for July- Our Brown-Eyed Girls
Nine years ago Tiffany Webb's first of two girls joined her family of three. A girly girl at heart, and like her own Mom with her and her sister, she loved to dress her little girl up. Bows were one of her favorite ways to make an outfit, but she had trouble finding the bows that she wanted. So she began making them herself. Family and friends began to take notice and her business was born.
She hasn't always been a stay at home Mom, once working for Boeing, she also got some exposure to design at a job at The Plaid Giraffe in Wichita. She loved being around all the beautiful things and working with client's. Getting to make big, beautiful bows for gift wrapping honed her skills with ribbon as well.
Now with two adorable little girls, she counts them as her biggest inspiration. "I love making things for them and getting them all dolled up! So, because I have so much fun doing that with them.... It's also, rewarding to watch other Mom's having fun dolling up their girls as well! I would have to say that I have the most amazing friends and customers too, that challenge me and are a great support and inspiration!" Some of her close friends she refers to as her "business managers"! "They are always challenging me to branch out and make new things or start a facebook page or grow my page, etc.....I am not much of a computer person so those things are not my area! Having friends to help with those things is awesome!" Doing home shows and partnering up with other Mom businesses are other ways she can connect with those friends.
Seeing her bow creations on all of her friends/customers girls', inspires her to do more. Being creative, and being challenged to design new fun bows is inspiration as well. "I have always loved unique, fun accessories for myself and now for my girls...so I guess I just have fun with it!"
Her advice for other Moms is to "find something you enjoy doing that allows you to have a creative outlet! Being a wife and mom is so rewarding.... Finding something you enjoy that allows you to stay home, while making some extra money can be a lot of fun, especially if it allows you to meet new people and socialize some too!"
Tiffany and her husband Brandon, just celebrated their 15th Wedding Anniversary. They have three beautiful children. Tristan (11), Sophie (9) and their wonderful surprise baby, Bridget (2). They enjoy traveling, sports activities and hanging out together as a family! To balance it all Tiffany and her family enjoy getting away, and traveling. Hot baths at the end of the day and exercising is a good outlet for her. Date nights with her husband are a must!!!!
You can find Our Brown-Eyed Girls bows at various shows throughout the year, or on Facebook. She can also do custom orders to go with any outfit.
Thank you Tiffany for sharing your story on how you are a Work at Home Mom!
